Perfume Bottle

So I decided to try and recreate this render I saw: (My render is the video at the bottom not this image)

I always feel like my renders are missing something to bring them to the next level, so if anyone has any suggestions on improving, I won’t take it personally… I promise

I think there is a chance to make the coil look better by adjusting the transparency distance for it.

thanks I’ll give that a try

I really like the video, the contrast is better than the still I think although that’s a taste thing. I think they also used kind of soft-focus, bloom kind of thing in the still.

Another thing you can try is to also animate some DOF. In the still there’s a very limited focus field while in your render everything is crispy sharp. If you add a narrow DOF you automatically get some more difference between the bottle and for example the helix.

Thanks they’re good thoughts. I think sometimes I unintentionally make the scenes too busy and distracting in general, maybe some DOF would have helped reign back in the focus to the product like you suggest.
Thank you!

Personally I wouldn’t say there is something like too busy or too clean generally speaking. That’s the good thing behind creativity. It just depends on what you want to tell or what the audience is. I saw your render from Tech Tuesday with the bump add and thought it was really cool, no idea what it is though but grabs attention.

Haha thanks yeah that render had absolutely no direction. I started modelling and just tried to keep adding to see what I ended up with!
